Zandra Cheng, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist.
Dr. Cheng received her medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. She completed her residency in general surgery at Penn State Hershey Medical Center and her breast surgery fellowship at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Maryland. She earned her undergraduate degree at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Cheng is certified in Breast Ultrasound by the American Society of Breast Surgeons and specializes in both benign and malignant breast disease with expertise in oncoplastic breast surgery, idiopathic granulomatous mastitis and cystic neutrophilic granulomatous mastitis. She is fluent in French, basic Chinese (Mandarin and Shanghainese) and basic ASL.
Dr. Cheng believes in delivering a patient-centered, evidence-based, multidisciplinary approach to breast care in a compassionate and holistic manner. She likes caring for people and ensuring each patient has a positive encounter throughout the duration of their treatment and recovery - not only physically but emotionally and spiritually as well.
Dr. Cheng has published several research articles in peer-reviewed journals including ones on reducing turn-around time in pathology and reduction of perioperative pain. She has also participated in several clinical trials focused on de-escalating therapy without compromising care and outcomes to enhance longevity and quality of life.
